Field note

Four investigators, three corrections

Separate methods and permission to falsify prior conclusions mattered more than the number of investigators.

Method ChangeExternal upstream · Codex-LB

How the claim changed

Belief

Using several agents to investigate the same bug should reduce the chance of a shared mistaken diagnosis.

Evidence

A Codex-LB shutdown race was investigated by a code-reading worker and an empirical worker.

Contradiction

A verifier using a different method overturned parts of the earlier diagnosis. Orchestrator remeasurement then found another risk outside the verifier’s coverage.

Correction

Define independence by provenance and method, and explicitly allow each investigation to falsify earlier conclusions.

Current claim boundary

Multiple agents are not automatically multiple independent pieces of evidence.
