Field note
Dogfooding becomes product correction
Four narrow mismatches found in real use became bounded product corrections without broadening the historical claim.
How the claim changed
Belief
The workflow’s contracts should make common recovery, evidence, and writable-scope behavior internally consistent during real use.
Evidence
Agent-Workflow dogfooding exercised closeout, evidence fidelity, writable scope, and unexpected-error capture in constrained environments.
Contradiction
It exposed unsupported closeout guidance, equivalent working-directory values treated as contradictory, a directory supplied as an exact path, and diagnostics that could fail when the configured state root was unavailable.
Correction
Merged fixes now align recovery guidance, normalize equivalent directory evidence, reject exact-path misuse during preparation, and preserve bounded diagnostics through a private temporary fallback.
Current claim boundary
These changes correct the observed invariants and improve future evidence preservation; they do not reconstruct the historical hidden exception or imply all dogfooding friction is gone.
